Throatless (Beverly) Shear

You will see a lot of people offering Throatless or Beverly shears on okay over time. You want to use the utmost caution if you're buying a throatless shear advertised as a "Beverly" Shear. All Beverly Shears have a nameplate that says Beverly Shear on them. All chinese knockoffs of beverly shears DO NOT, they will have generic plates or plates that say other brand names. Any Beverly Shear or throatless shear sold on okay, where it says similar product or product may differ from picture... DON'T BUY IT. You may end up paying real Beverly Shear prices for a cheap knockoff.
This however does not mean the knockoffs are worse quality for hobby or general use. The knockoffs sometimes do not have little amenities the real Beverlys do. Real Beverlys tend to sell new for 3-4x more then the knockoffs. Real Beverly Shears are high quality all around and are worth buying if you plan to usethem often. The only problem with the knockoffs I have encountered is the cutting blades tend to be poor quality. This is easily fixed by replacing them with a high quality set of blades.. I own one of these knock offs myself and it has worked flawlessly for me, and odes what I need it to do for hobby use.
The most gemon knockoffs sold on okay are Central Forge model 38413 throatless shear. They sell for 99.99 normally from a gepany called Harbor Freight. This is a retail gepany, anyone can go to their site or one of their stores and buy this product for 99.99..
Most okay resellers sell them for 99.99, with a 10-20 dollar shipping fee, andthis is usually waived by Harbor Freight because the reseller orders quantity after massing enough sales on okay. So most of these people make their money on the shipping, which they usually aren't even doing themselves.
Harbor Freight routinely will ship these items at a cost of $9.99, or even waive shipping if you buy other items from them. Buying in the store, you pay no shipping of course, just the flat 99.99. Replacement Blades sell for 39.99 (about 5 or 6 dollars shipping) normally. So by buying these throatless shears on okay, you're paying $20.00 more then you have to, and waiting longer to get them. This is on top of often times thinking you're buying the real Beverly at a much higher price.. DO NOT let yourself get ripped off.
