Bought a substitute (foreign) battery pack that is labeled KAA2HR 1800mAh 1.2Vx2 NI-MH, which was to replace 3-year old original Kodak pack for my Kodak EasyShare DX4330 digital camera (with pretty much the same specifications). Battery pack looks the same (different color). Voltage checks as the same. Same physical size and polarity.
WILL NOT WORK. Camera doesn't do anything with this battery pack, like it isn't there. Putting it on my charger (Kodak EasyShare camera dock II) results in the red light flashing, which I've NEVER gotten with a Kodak battery.
If this replacement makes the charger flash red, what might it do to my camera? Even using regular AA batteries don't have this effect on the charger.
From now on, I will stick with the proper brand name replacement to use in something expensive likea digitalcamera. After all, I got three years out of the factory original (and it's still working; just discharges too quickly).
