There is a seller located in Plano, Texas selling 3-bladed fiberglass rotor blades and hubs of varying sizes from 81.5 to 157 inches. They also have lots of magnets from china and other parts in their store.Although the shape of these blades makes them very efficient, the quality of the geponents is extremely poor. The hubs are made out of brittle cast iron and support the rotor on the drive shaft at only one point. They are prone to failure caused by material fatigue resultin from torsional twisting. They can cause seriousdamage to your equipment and possibly personal injury. I HAVE PICTURES OF SUCH A FAILURE!!! To be fair the seller replaced me a set of 81.5" blades ruineddue to such a hub failure. I also bought 102" blades (without a hub, after my experience)which failed as well shortly after installation. I was surprised when I received the larger blades, to see that the roots of the blades were the exact same dimensions of the 81.5" blades, BUT had an additional mounting hole drilled through them (3 instead of 2, a hole removes material thus making the roots even weaker then on 81.5" blades). Sure enough the rotorfailed: The root of one blade broke straight through all three holes, the blade flew into the air and parachuted down without sustaining any greater damage. The rest of the rotor - now gepletely out of balance - continued spinning for a while before my bearing assemblies gave up due to the increased load of the unbalanced rotor. The other two blades are spinach, of course. All this happened in only 40-42mph winds - not much. The roots need to be much thicker or otherwise reinforced. I mounted the blades on my own design of hub, which resembles the original hub, but is made out of off-the-shelf structural steel geponents, fits on 1" keyed shafting and supports the rotor on the shaft in two places instead of one. It uses four set screws to attach it on the shaft. The seller makes dubious claims that it is not strong enough and thus is the cause of failure, yet here is my hub still perfectly intact after all this stress and ordeal. He has absolutely no arguments against this, except for highly impolite insults in my direction. I HAVE PICTURES OF IT ALL, if you want to see for yourself. I am saying here BE CAREFUL with these, they are wasted money, time, and effort, plus they can result in injury if somebody is standing in the line of fire.
