Indian hubcaps

Hi guys, I am out of my league here but thought it was worth checking.. My brother has been watching this low mileage 53 Harley for years and just bought it. He remembers it sitting on a trailer , which he got, but it had old car type spoke wheels and Indian hubcaps about the size of baby moons. Those seem to have disappeared and he would like to know more about them so I thought I would try here. Any info appreciated.

Hello......please direct me

I dont know if I am in the right forum, If I am not I appologize, please help me get there. I need to list an 06 Goldwing, but before I do I need to know the cost. I understand the initial costs, insertion fees, pics etc, but Final value fees are cloudy for me. I have sold before but nothing this expensive, and I cant accept paypal, because the bike is Financed at Honda Finance, so paypal fees shouldn't exist.......anyway, I need to get a ballpark figure, say............. if the bike sold for 13800. I was trying to figure it out and came up with something near 400 bucks.......Is this close or am I stupid. Thanks very much for any help

Aerosmith Sturgis oops!

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has been airlifted to a hospital after falling from a stage during a concert at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota. The 61-year-old Tyler fell while entertaining the crowd by dancing around after the sound system failed during the song "Love In an Elevator." A spokesman for the Buffalo Chip Campground, which hosted the outdoor concert, says Tyler was on the stage's catwalk when he fell backward onto a couple of fans. Security rushed to help him and the crowd cheered when Tyler got back up. Tyler suffered minor head and neck injuries and a shoulder injury, but it wasn't immediately clear how serious that was. The concert was halted about halfway through. Fans expressed disappointment but hoped Tyler was OK.

Certain eBay online auctions involve non-binding bids

So, I found now that vehicles are Non-binding? But significantly interested is the standard. WTF.? Yes, I can see the buyer coming over taking a look at the vehicle (motorcycles too?) and saying, "wow thats just totally not what you described. In my case the motorcycle is NEW and has only 950 miles on it... So any person with "prior non-binding bidding knowledge" cans say "so sorry, forget it". How can you prove that some one is, or is not significantly interested? That's it? The buyer does not even have to look at it? test drive it?. I would not be so irritated if I new this before listed it.. Is that so hard for EBay to mention this for first time seller? Come on most people I suspect are one timers. A one line warning that your 10 day listing maybe totally useless? Whats the point of an auction? The buyer has cold feet, remorse or just likes to mess with people walks away? Is it me or is this BS? buyers should have to prove they made an effort and verify it through the seller that their was indeed an effort made by buyer, like showing up? Is this to difficult to do for almighty EBay? Tell me that I am wrong someone...

NEED ADVICE

I just purchased an old, not running, motorcycle for parts to use for building another bike. Upon tearing it down I discovered it has SEVERE flood damage, and what looks like definite fire damage. The damage is horrible. I paid $2000.00 for it and its probably only worth about $500.00. I went in person and picked the bike up, but the damage was not noticeble until I started taking everything apart. I havent contacted the seller yet. I have taken photos of all the damage. Im a fairly new Ebay user, What should I do to resolve this? Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm wondering my stock carb on my 1200 cc sportster is terrible when cold, spits, belches, I've changed the low speed jet to a 45, the high speed is a 175, Is it worth it going to a Mikuni to avoid all this?. Or should I continue to put more time and effort into the stock carb.

Big Twin not HD AEE Choppers

I have a friend that worked for AEE on this bike and he's asked me (he's less computer savvy than I)to see if anyone on the ebay site knows where this bike is. Fees for motorcycle listings

I recently bought a nice little motorcycle for $200, cleaned it all up, got it running and sold it on eBay for $330 - a nearly 60% profit. However, due to the "fixed price" fee structure, ebay got $100 of my profit and I ended up with $30 for all my work. The bike ran and was street legal so was not "parts only". Obviously the fixed price format doesn't work for little cheapies like this. Does anyone know of another category, or another venue for marketing this sort of item?

Kawasaki Woe's

I just recently purchased an '86 Kawasaki 600ZL Eliminator. It rides smoothly but the previous owner didn't take the best care of it so I would like to strip it down, rebuild the carbs, adjust the rear brake as well as a couple other things. At any rate my problem is this. The repair manual. So far I've found only one repair manual (isbn: 99924-1055-04) But this covers engine only! Problem Title, Need Help

Maybe one of yall nice fellas can steer me in the right direction. A while back I bought a motorcycle from my stepbrother, who lived in Bristol Tennessee. So I drove from Florida to Tennessee to pick up the bike and visit for a few days. He had the bike titled in Tennessee and gave me the title. When I got back to Florida I rode the bike to the local DMV office to transfer the title, and found out the vin didnt match the title. Florida verifies the vin before the title is issued. Apparently Tennessee does not. He bought the bike at a shop that was on consignment. To make matters worse he passed away shortly after and now I dont know how to title this bike. The only thing I can think of is the shop gave him a title for a different bike and since they dont verify the vin, Tennessee issued the title. I do not even know what shop sold the bike so I am at a dead end. Does anyone know how I could resolve this. I could use any and all advice on this matter. I would hate to buy a frame with title so I can ride it legally.

Civil Trial for Bill Janklow....

Civil trial stemming from Janklow accident going to trial SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Attorneys have failed to reach a settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit stemming from a fatal crash caused by former South Dakota Rep. Bill Janklow, so a federal judge in Minnesota will decide how much the victim's family is owed. Both sides met Wednesday for nearly three hours at U.S. District Court in Minneapolis but couldn't resolve it, according to courtroom minutes and one of the lawyers. Randy Scott, 55, of Hardwick, Minn., was killed Aug. 16, 2003, when his Harley-Davidson hit the back of the Cadillac Janklow drove through a stop sign at an intersection near Trent. Scott was killed instantly. Janklow was injured. Scott's family sued the United States for $25 million after the U.S. attorney in Minnesota concluded Janklow was on official business at the time of the crash -- which makes the federal government responsible for any damages. By March 1, both sides need to be ready to go to trial, which is expected to last three days. It will be in front of a judge, not a jury, said Ronald Meshbesher, the Minneapolis attorney for Scott's family. "We're just ready and alert from that point on," he said. A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in Minneapolis said federal prosecutors could not comment. Janklow, who has returned to private practice as a lawyer, was a dominating force in South Dakota politics for 30 years. After serving as attorney general, the Republican was governor for 16 years, serving four terms in two separate eight-year stints. In 2002, he was elected as South Dakota's only member of the House. Janklow has diabetes and testified he had not eaten the day of the accident and likely blacked out when he approached the intersection. A jury in his boyhood home of Flandreau convicted him of second-degree manslaughter in December 2003. He resigned from Congress a month later, served 100 days in jail, paid a $5,000 fine, temporarily lost his law license and was forbidden from driving during his probation. He finished his sentence in the Minnehaha County Jail in May 2004. His three-year probation ended Jan. 22, 2007. Because Janklow was given a suspended imposition of sentence, his criminal record was cleared.

HD SPORTSTER QUESTION

I have the Bug to buy a Sportster. I have had HD 45s, Indian Chiefs and presently own a 1940 Indian Sport Scout. Never had a new motorcycle, always antiques, but am thinking of getting a late model Sportster. I see a lot of very low mileage Sportsters and I mean 3000 to 9000 miles on 2004 to 2006 bikes. Why is that? I even saw a 2003 anniversary custom with 1200 kit with 1700 miles and a few 2006 Sportsters with less than 1000 miles. A 883 would be fine for me but a 1200 would be even better. Any recomendations?

Car Tire on the back of a Harley?

I walked out of a retaurant the other day and, as usual, cast an eyeball on the bikes parked out front. There was a Fat Boy with what I believe to be a car tire on the rear wheel. I say that because it had the typical "square corner" profile of a car tire rather than the rounded profile I associate with bike tires. Is that likely? Wouldn't it foul up your handling, havig those "corners" on the outside edges of the tire? Inqiring minds want to know!

Lead and small motor bikes

I thought that some members of this board might find this article interesting, if not down right frightening concerning lead levels in small motor bikes. Link "A new national limit on lead in children's products -- which has toy makers scrambling for new testing methods and retailers for storage space for inventory they're not sure they can sell -- also is forcing motorcycle dealers to pull dirt bikes off showroom floors. It became illegal Tuesday to sell off-road machines geared for children younger than 12 because parts in them contain lead at levels greater than 600 parts per million. Most motor vehicles have such parts. About 100,000 of the bikes -- popular for trails, zipping around backyards and racing on motocross tracks -- sold last year for $1,500 or more, according to industry estimates. The ban, not yet permanent, is a blow to motocross racers of any age who want a small bike and now won't be able to get new equipment or repair what they have." This sounds an awful lot like an email I got recently: London Times Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense, interesting and sadly rather true. Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers: I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

fraud,fraud,fraud!!!!!

I was looking for a sportsbike on eBay approximately two weeks ago whe I stumbbled upon a 2005 R6 for sale buy the seller name of Paul Johnson. The bike was selling for very cheap so I inquired. I contatced the high feedback seller at his personal e-mail. the seller stated he was in finacial difficulties and if I wanted,he could close the auction early and we could deal straight up. Bad mistake and a rookie mistake. Never-the-less I ended up sending this idiot close to $3000.00 through what I thought was eBay Buyer Protection escrow plan. Very nice recreated documents and very authentic, I thought. The payment was sent and to make a long story short, I never heard from them again and they are off with my money. So be very careful when bidding, conducting transactions, I learned the hard way! If anyone knows of anyone who has a descent Yamaha R6 available and are willing to work out payment arrangements please let me know. I am a trustworthy person and I made the sad mistake of believing everyone else is too. Don't let this happen to you!Look for the clues: end auction early, cheap shipping or its included in the price, low price for the year and the milage, contacting the seller on personal e-mail, and never, never, eversend money unless it is through pay-pal! I hope people who read this get something out of this and don't get scammed like I did. I don't know how these people can get away with this and without eBay knowing there true identities?????

CHOPPER ARTIST Dennis McPhail VIRGIN MARY statue where do I list this ?

Hi everyone, the E Bay Motors thread people sent me over here. Hope everyone is having a fun safe weekend. Hey I am out of my element here, trying to sell a really cool statue painted by an artist that is know for his chopper painting, Dennis McPhail. I am conflicted on where to list this. I went ahead and threw it in art but was wondering if you think it would be better suited in motors. It's obviously not your traditional religious art. Any help would be appreciated.

Any dirt bikers here? Any used/ NOS bike/ATV parts sellers?

Hi, I'm an old slow short bald dirt biker (not yet fat, but I am working on that too). I'm selling off a bunch of my old parts; they are going about as fast as I can list, sell and ship. I'm going to run out of my own parts to sell pretty quick. Anybody have suggestions about sources for more good used or NOS parts to sell? I checked with the bike and ATV shops here in my little town about doing some consignment sales; the bike guy doesn't even know what he has to sell and can't get his employees to figure it out; the ATV guy is new, so doesn't have the kind of stuff laying around that I would be interested in selling. I'm going to start to hit some garage sales and keep an eye out for that old broken down bike in the corner that I can grab on the cheap; also real-world auctions. Maybe advertise in local papers too. I'm interested in selling all kinds used and NOS parts for all types of bikes and ATVs, not just dirt bikes. Not new stuff or whole bikes or accessories or foo foo stuff; not a space I want to compete in. Just hard parts. I have a new addiction and now I have to feed it. Thanks, Barney

Motorcyclists' Rights Group Leader Killed In Crash

Motorcyclists' Rights Group Leader Killed In Crash POSTED: 10:28 am EDT August 31, 2006 UPDATED: 2:03 pm EDT August 31, 2006 EASTON, Md. -- An Eastern Shore man who was the state director of an organization that lobbies for the rights of motorcycle owners was killed while riding his motorcycle. A sport utility vehicle struck Martin L. Schultz's bike Wednesday at an intersection in Easton, according to Maryland State Police. Schultz ran off the road and struck a telephone pole. He died at the scene. The SUV driver, Latasha R. Neal, 25, of Hurlock, was treated at Memorial Hospital at Easton and released. Schultz, 44, of Newcomb, was state director of ABATE (A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments) of Maryland in Annapolis. The association's members, according to its Web site, "have joined together to advocate training as the foremost means to reducing accidents and injury, to put an end to discriminatory legislation, to communicate via a bimonthly newsletter, to explore ways to improve the overall motorcycling experience in Maryland, and to provide for and assure a continuing freedom and affordability of motorcycling." ABATE opposes mandatory helmet laws and has a "Helmet Law Protest Ride" scheduled for October. State police said a helmet was recovered from the scene of Schultz's crash, but it was not immediately known if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. HUH!?! Maryland has a mandatory helmet law. He was a leader of ABATE. You can't ride any where in the Easton area and not eventually see a police. It's not that rural of an area. He didn't want to pick a fight with the law he only wanted to change the law! What makes them think he wasn't wearing the helmet? Just because he belonged to and was a leader of ABATE? You would think maybe, JUST MAYBE! the helmet was ripped off his head from the force of the impact? I guess that thought never entered their minds. Anyway, it doesn't make for a interesting enough story.(sensationalism) The insensitive information that news reporters print just burns me up.

Carb diaphragms

Hello all. Never posted to the m/c boards before, but really need some help. I have a '91 Venture Royale. It always ran perfectly, up until a few weeks ago. I put the choke on, started it, and it only ran at 1000 RPM, instead of the usual 2500 - 3000RPM. Sounded rough too. Once I took off the choke, it would barely idle, and would quit within a minute. Doesn't run at all without the choke on now. (Sounds like a vacuum leak to me). I checked all the line/hoses, boots, and all look good. I managed to get one of the diaphragms out, and there is a pinhole in it. Two questions:1. Does this sound like the problem? (I'll find out how the other three diaphragms look once I finally get the covers off)2. Can this be repaired with a fuel resistant silicone type sealer, or do I really need to shell out the $300 for diaphragms? Thanks,Doug

Safe Harbor and Invoice.com

I agreed to buy an ATV that was listed but then was gone. I had the sellers email address and so I sent an email asking if the item was still for sale. She said it was and I emailed again, lets do it. I then got an invoice from "ebay@invoice.com" instrycting me on how the trNSaction would be completed. I was to wire the money to an account at the Bank of America in Maryland, where the safeharbor people would hold the money until I got the atv. When I got it I would have 3 days to inspect it, then let them know if it was what I thought it would be and then they would release the money to the aeller. The also had me fax a copy of the wire form to a number so they could check with Bank of America to see if it had arrived. Then I got an email from the seller saying she got an email from ebay that I had paid and she said she would ship it today (9/11/06). I emailed asking for shipping details, but I have yet to get a reply from the seller who is located in southern California. Ebay has been no help in telling me if this is how they handle these transactions. Should I go to the FBI and report wire fraud? I hate to do that until I know more because what if it's legit? A co-worker said the email is a fake because it came from invoice.com. I have emailed them as well, but have yet to hear from them. All I get from ebay is standard computer generated stuff, nothing personal to my situation. Please advise....

Billy Lane Post removed??

WHY?? are we not allowed to discuss the News? blood alcohol levels taken at the scene show that Lane was over the state's .08 limit, Trooper Kim Miller, spokesman for the highway patrol said the state could pursue DUI manslaughter charges and/or vehicular homicide charges, along with other lesser-offense traffic citations. Advertisement "He did pass on the double yellow line so he is definitely at fault in the crash," Miller said. She added that the state must wait to file any charges until they have all the evidence in the case in order to avoid double jeopardy. While Miller said it could take six to eight weeks to get the blood alcohol levels back from the lab, the state has asked for a rush order on the results. However, Miller said in Florida officers don't automatically take blood alcohol levels after a fatal crash, and they have to have probable cause in order to conduct the test. "We do believe he was impaired," Miller said. The accident occurred at approximately 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 4, south of Melbourne Beach where Lane resides. According to police reports, Lane was attempting to pass two vehicles on a double-lane section of road when his 2006 Dodge pickup hit a 1983 Yamaha moped head-on. The crash killed 56-year old Gerald Morelock, who was driving the moped. Erin Derrick, 22, who was riding with Lane, suffered serious injuries but was treated and released at the local hospital. Lane was also treated for minor injuries and released. Lane, who owns Choppers Inc. in Melbourne, Fla., has become well known through appearances on the Discovery Channel's "Biker Buildoff" and "Monster Garage." Lane is also known locally for his efforts to raise money for the Children's Care Rehab and Development Center in Rapid City during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Link 17169667

Yamaha 1992 XJ600 Seca Low Engline Rumbling and Burping Exhaust

Hey! I've got a 92 XJ600 and noticed yesterday that the engine was making a real low, kind of rumbling grumbling sound (it sounded kinda cool like a hog, but abnormal). I checked the air coming out of the pipes and while both had the normal put put of air coming out, one side would occasionally let out a belch or pop, almost like a small backfire. Is this caused by dirty carbs or something? Thanks! Chris

WARNING! This is very DISTURBING! SICK people in this world!

Sep 16, 7:24 AM EDT Charges Dropped in Wis. Necrophilia Case LANCASTER, Wis. (AP) -- A judge on Friday dismissed charges of attempted sexual assault against three men accused of trying to dig up a woman's body to have sex with the corpse, noting that Wisconsin has no law against necrophilia. The men still face lesser charges. Twins Nicholas and Alexander Grunke, 20, and Dustin Radke, 20, were arrested after an alleged attempt to dig up the body of a 20-year-old woman who was killed Aug. 27 in a MOTORCYCLE CRASH. Officials said a caller reported suspicious activity in the cemetery Sept. 2, and deputies found someone had dug down to her vault. Authorities said the three were not acquainted with the woman but had seen an obituary with her photo. Circuit Judge George Curry said that while there was no law that addressed necrophilia, there was enough evidence to continue the case because of criminal damage to property and the alleged attempt to break into a burial vault

Spark Knock and Bad Fuel availability!!

I know this subject is targeted more for the riders of older bikes, as I'm well aware that newer bikes with EFI may have anti-knock sensors that eliminate or reduce the problem. However, I also know that my friend's '03 Road King has EFI, and he is now developing a Spark Knock problem....so perhaps the intended audience will be expanded over the summer. I have 2 HDs...both very similar, but one is virtually free of any spark knock and the other is plagued with it. Both are TC88 motors bored out to 95 CID, and both are carburated. Both have the Screamin' Eagle Ignition Module, both have 2-into-1 exhausts, and both are 'cam'd'. One is an "A" motor on my '00 Dyna (which has NO spark knock) and the other is a "B" motor on my '01 Fatboy. Needless to say, they both get the same gas from the same pump. So, why does one bike perform so differently from the other? Let me just say that I've had this 'discussion' with countless Harley experts, and the opinions are as diverse as the individuals themselves. But...before getting into the 'bike' issue.....let me mention fuel itself. This is a problem that's been around for years, and in some areas it's not getting any better. We're now being faced with all kinds of processes that add oxidizers, detergents, lubricants, and the other day I saw some kind of new 'Technium' additive that really seemed like nothing more than a new way to market the gas. But, the bottom line is that "FUEL" is FULL of additives that can affect this problem. Especially if you get a fuel that has a high level of alcohol incorporated into the mix. So, BEWARE of what's coming out of the pump!! As to the bikes......I can only say that I've dealt with this problem for two summers now....and as I see the temps getting warmer, I'm now starting to hear that classic rattle more frequently. I fear the day when I go to accelerate around a car and I drop a piston from detonation erosion. I may have to pull the heads of my motor just to check my pistons before another summer of riding. But, I am interested in any and every posting that gets submitted....and I hope to learn from them. I've been takin' apart motorcycle engines for nearly 50 years now......but I know I've got plenty to learn! So, any ideas or suggestions....please let me know. Thanks for reading this!! WC

Ultima 65mm Inverted Fork Problems

Just wanted to issue a warning to ebayers intending to purchase or sell Ultima's new 65mm inverted front ends. As a retailer of this product, I think it is very important that everyone is aware of a potentially dangerous situation. I recently sold and installed a set of these forks. Upon installation, I noticed a MAJOR design flaw in the axle and axle retaining portion of the forks. The design will allow the axle to slide from side to side if any heavy side loads are applied, i.e. high speed cornering. I noticed this problem and brought it to the attention of the manufacturer. I was told an "engineer" would be in contact with me to discuss the problem. No return call. I contacted them a second time and got the same answer. Still, no return call. I thought I found a way to prevent the problem and naively installed the forks anyway. About 75 miles after the bike left, the wheel walked to the left and locked up the wheel and caused a crash. I am now in a huge mess over this, and while I am taking full responsibility over what happened, I am very angry that the manufacturer has yet to contact me about the problem. The short of this is, until Ultima fixes the problem, be aware of the potential dangers here. As a retailer, you could be named in a lawsuit. As a consumer, you could end up with serious injuries or even death. Sorry to be a downer, but I just want to see everyone safe. Keep the rubber side down.

I just bought one of these bikes and the only problem, aside from needing a new chain and normal wear and tear, is the starter clutch. We opened her up and it just flat-out needs replacing. I keep finding them all over the place for cb750s, but wonder if those will fit mine. Some parts, I know, are interchangeable. Is this one? If not, any ideas as to where a cheap one is? Ultima 65mm front end inverted forks

I was wondering why the Ultima 65mm inverted frontend forks were discontinued. I don't think it was a safety issue. They were replaced by the current 58mm inverted forks. I would like to find the 65mm with 6 over to buy. They are getting to be hard to find, I also wonder about getting parts now, such as the seals for them.

Finding Replacement Parts for Triumphs

Odd-Sized Tires

Hey! I've got an '81 Suzuki GS250T (Impressive, right?). I've been able to find exactly one tire for the front, and NONE for the rear. I need a 3.50-17 rear-mount tube tire, and apparently there are none in existence. Does anyone know where I can find what has turned out to be the hardest tire ever? I'm off the road until I get at least one for the rear.

Red Barron Choppers

For those of you that are thinking about buying a Red Barron/DHC frame from ebay. STOP. And read the disscussion below. Not only have I had horrible experience with them, they have bad reviews posted all over the internet. Here is my experience. I had a similar problem with DHC. I bought a frame (Switchblade 250) off eBay around the same time as you did and it took over 7 weeks to get it. No updates or anything from DHC/Red Barron. They are one of the companies that will take your money first and then build the part. I have had noting but problems with the frame. I have had to cut the frame to get the engine to fit. I had to cut the upper motor mount to get the Engine to fit. It doesn't come with axle stops, so I ordered some from them so I could weld them on, and they sent me galvanized hex bolts to weld on the frame. Most recently, and the reason I have posted this is that I went to install a set of forward controls and the left side tapped holes are off center for the controls to mount. I tried both a set of PM controls, and a set of Hammer Customs (Which by the way are excellent controls). I called DHC/Red Barron and Daniel Howe told me that they have been getting lots of calls about the same problem and that all aftermarket parts are not the same design, and that they can't make it to fit all. Everyone knows that this is a line of S**t. All 3-bolt configurations are the same. The holes that DHC drilled and tapped are just off enough to not work. DHC didn't offer to send a new plate to weld on. They told me to drill out the holes and bolt them on with nuts on the back. POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP. I would NOT Recommend this builder. They are seedy and inexperienced. When it comes down to it, they are an armature in a big boys business. They don't build quality products and offer poor customer service. DONT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER.

Misleading Sale of Item

"What can be done if an item is being sold on eBay and the seller is misleading the bidders with false information !! Example: A vehicle is for sale, the seller says it was wet but not under water! After researching the vehicle in question, I find that it was in a fire and totalled by an insurance company. The seller goes on to say that it was a little rusty, (so he powdercoated it)whereas, the pics from the insurance sale reveal a burned up vehicle. I have proof of the insurance sale. I just know that this is misleading and don't want to see anyone get hurt with the said vehicle." This is on a motorcycle frame that got really toasted. You and I both know what heat does to a frame. Let me know what I can do to keep this sly seller from profiting on something dangerous.

Cold weather riding gear

Hi all! 20 years ago or so I had my jacket lined with a great, quilted, extremely warm fabric. Unfortunately, although always toasty, it made my jacket bulky and rather stiff. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas with today's technology and new cold weather fabrics, what I should use to have it relined? I'm thinking there might be some skiers, climbers, boarders, and all-weather riders who might have something that works for them in extremely cold temps. Thanks for your suggestions!

Ok just to stir up some shift here since none has been stirred for years and the stagnant smell is nearly overwhelming... Is there one person on this board that can tell me why..(other than the fact that the SCOOTER just makes more horsepower) An 05 harley 883 sporty with a dry weight of 558 pounds with a NADA book of between $3900 and $4900 can't out run an 05 650cc Suzuki bergman SCOOTER....and BTW also has a NADA between $3900 and $4900.. Now I know the HD out weighs the SCOOTER buy a whole 34 pounds but it also has a displacement advantage of over 233 cubic centimeters....

Shipping motorcycles

I recently made my first eBay motorcycle purchase. I arranged for Daily Direct to pick it up and deliver it to a local dealer. The price seemed fair enough. The communication has been lousy and the process has been terribly slow. I don't want to slam these folks as they may be a perfectly good company, but I'm a little taken aback at how slow it is and was curious about what other folks were doing about shipping motorcycles long distances. Selling a bike for someone else?

Hello to all you motorcycle enthusiats. I have a question for which I found no answer in the search pages. I have a close family member who wants to sell a motorcycle and asked if I could list it for him. I told him that I thought Ebay had a policy against that since it's not legally owned by me, the would-be seller. However, I scanned the search pages and found nothing specific.
